We’re not sure about you (and where you are in the world!), but winter is fully upon us here in Pittsburgh. This cold weather can create challenges in trying to find new activities, especially for those of us who aren’t so keen on breaking out our traction cleats and braving the snow. Here at Trusst we’re always looking for new activities and hobbies, and wanted to share a few of our favorites that are fun, creative, AND allow us to stay cozy in the comfort of our own home. And best part - most of them are even better with friends.
Get Your Craft On - We’re makers, so of course we’d suggest a good old fashioned DIY, obviously! Whether it’s knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, or upcycling your clothes, getting your creative juices flowing is a great way to get your mind off the weather while learning some new skills at the same time.
Below is one of our favorite tutorials! This “Rad Macrame Plant Hanger” is super easy, yet looks chic and sophisticated. A few green plants or potted flowers are sure to brighten up your home and your mood!
Learn to Cook (or up your cooking game) - Don’t want to brave the cold and head out to a cooking class? We love to experiment with fun, delicious, and healthy recipes from www.cookinglight.com. If you are already a great cook or want to take your cooking to the next level, check out the link below for delicious food and wine pairings.
Food and Wine Pairings -Ladies night, anyone?
Treat Yourself! - Just relax! Get yourself some candles, champagne and bubbles and enjoy a warm bath. A dip in warm water helps improve blood circulation, keeping you extra toasty in the colder months. This one might be best done alone ;)
Get Lost in a Book - Reading a great book can educate, relax, and distract you from the winter gloom. Check out the link below for the 2015 best sellers. Curl up next to the fire, next to your furry friend, or next to your main squeeze, and enjoy a good read!
Anyone have any other fun activities you love that you’d like to share?
