Redefining Beauty: Meet Madison
Madison was one of our earliest customers, actually supporting us in our original Kickstarter campaign. As a single mother, she understands the importance of being comfortable and supported every day. When you are taking care of everything in your life, you don’t have time to worry about your bra, which is why she relies on her Trusst bra to do the heavy lifting.
We recently reconnected Madison after reading her review of her new Naomi: The Essential in Snowdrop. Madison had tried one of our earliest styles and having loved that style, was excited to try the new Naomi we launched last summer. Because our Naomi bra was designed based off of customer feedback, we value Madison’s feedback more than ever.

What does beauty mean to you?
Too often we think of beauty as the way something looks...While *seeing* something beautiful is enjoyable, being around someone who has a beautiful Soul is equally as wonderful. Beauty is more than just aesthetics: Kind hearts, positive characters, and fun personalities are also extremely beautiful.
What does being comfortable mean to you and your life?
Comfort is of the utmost importance. Like many people, I have a lot to accomplish! Accomplishing my goals is much easier when I'm not constantly thinking about how uncomfortable I feel!
How did you discover Trusst?
I was one of the first to buy a Trusst bra! I either supported the Kickstarter campaign in 2015, or purchased a bra shortly after they began marketing them. I loved the concept and was hopeful the bra would be all it boasted. Thankfully, it was! I haven't bought any other brand since. (But speaking for all of your customers, a strapless option and a breastfeeding option are also desperately needed soon! We can't get enough!)
What is your favorite thing about Trusst and/or the products?
I love that the product was designed by women who were fed-up with what was on the current market! I love that the design came from architectural inspiration...How awesome is that!? I think it's an inspiration for both grown women and little girls to see how problems affecting women can be fixed by women. And also to see women succeeding in male-dominated fields, and using their knowledge to make others' lives better!
Obviously, I love the product's comfort! Additionally, I appreciate how the prices of your bras have lowered as the line of bras has expanded. The price now rivals other brands, while your product is far superior!
What do you do on a daily basis? What builds your confidence?
I am a single mom to my 7-year-old biracial son, a Ph.D. student [in Sociology, studying race and ethnicity], and a college instructor. So, I stay pretty busy! Reading is always on my daily "to-do" list. Mostly academic books or journal articles for class, but I make time for "fun" reading, as well.
My academic ability has always been a source of confidence for me. I love learning, and I also enjoy teaching. I'm lucky to be doing something where I can combine both of those interests. Furthermore, I enjoy helping others, getting to know people, and being there for them. I feel like we all live in this world, so we should work together to try to make the experience better for everyone.
Why did you choose this spot for your photograph? What does it mean for your life/lifestyle and you?
Me at school in "professor mode." I love teaching, and getting to know my students every semester!
Trusst was founded by women who challenged the traditional stereotypes of bra design - through engineering, physics, and product design that is not typically seen in the lingerie industry. However, that passion for challenge extends further than just through design; it resonates in the way you live your life as well as the way you perceive yourself and others around you.
We will continue to share stories of other women like Madison who are redefining beauty. And we welcome you to share yours as well! Email us at email@example.com or share photos and tag us with #trusstyourself and #redefiningbeauty and we’ll feature you in an upcoming blog post.
Thanks for all of YOUR support of our brand and mission - we wouldn’t be here without you.
