The Daily Struggle: Getting Ready
Panic. Stress. Chaos. These are the words that best describe my struggles with finding an outfit in the mornings. Before bed, I usually try to plan my outfit for the next day. The only issue is that never works. The outfit I usually plan in my mind and think will look SO cute usually never works out.
I have an event to go to after work, so I wanted to wear something super cute and stylish. I thought about wearing a cute pair of tan pants with this adorable linen tunic that would be tucked in the front. Then I would pair it with a cute little scarf and open-toed booties. Sounds SO cute right? Guess again. I looked like an equestrian from the waist down and a member of Mystery Inc. from the waist up. It was God awful. But the fun doesn’t stop there.
Immediately the horse-riding get up or “giddy-up” (lol), was ripped from my panicked body. I began pacing back and forth in front of my closet until another option jumped out at me. In the meantime, I was sweaty and full of stress. I quickly threw on a white embroidered tank with a pair of medium wash skinny jeans. I then paired it with a cute pair of tan heels and a floral blazer. It looked really cute, that is until I looked down to see the world’s largest camel toe staring back at me. Nothing like a camel toe to start your day off on right hoof. There was no coming back from that. I mean I could have put on another pair of jeans, but I actually just wanted to set my whole closet up in flames.
Finally, the heavens opened up and shined down upon me. There is was...the outfit of my dreams. Or at least the outfit that would keep me from actually having a complete meltdown. Who would’ve thought an olive green dress with a back cut out would be the saving grace? I have worn this dress a bunch of times, but at this point, I didn’t care. It looked super cute and I was able to continue getting ready and move on with my day.
The daily struggle of finding an outfit is VERY real. That is where most of my annoyance and stress comes from. Usually, I am able to find something, but I am not that person that can lay their outfit out the night before and be totally okay with wearing it the next day. I wish that was me, but it surely is not. Who else struggles with finding an outfit every morning? How do you make it a less stressful process? Please share all your advice with me!
