The Weekly Win: October
The Weekly Win is happening early this week. Why? Because it is finally feeling like fall and finally October! I don’t know about you, but fall brings out the best in me. I love the change in weather. I love layers/fall fashion. I love pumpkin flavored things. I love all of the holidays that take place during the fall. It is just an amazing time of the year. I know some people don’t like fall because that means winter is right around the corner, but those people can shove it!
Who doesn’t love going to haunted houses, apple picking, or to a pumpkin patch? There are so many activities to do in the fall-- more than just standing in line at Starbucks to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I do think that there being so many fun things to do in the fall is what makes people enjoy this season so much. My October is jammed packed with stuff to do, because let me tell you-- once I see one snowflake hit the ground I turn into a hermit.
Weather plays a huge factor into why fall is the best. No offense to those of you who love summer, but I hate it. I hate being hot-- it makes doing anything unbearable (I am dramatic, but seriously screw the heat). But it is FINALLY OCTOBER! This is the time of year that I thrive. Literally at midnight last night I started putting up Halloween decorations. That’s probably why I needed 4 cups of coffee today, but it was worth it.
The best part about October for me is the movies. Now I am a horror movie fan, as well as just a lover of movies. I have put together the perfect October movie list, and I usually watch the same things around the same time every year, because I love the classics. Tonight I will start with cult classic, The Craft. Then, I will move right into Practical Magic. If you haven’t seen either of those movies-- you will want to add those to your October movie list ASAP. After that the rest of the week will probably consist of watching Hocus Pocus a hundred times and drinking pumpkin flavored things. Then I will move into the killers aka Freddy, Jason, Ghost Face, Leatherface, and Michael. Each week is usually dedicated to a series of horror movies starring one of those killers. If you don’t enjoy horror movies, then I guess just start on the Christmas movies early.
One thing that I do think is overrated about fall is the PSL aka the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I just think there are so many better pumpkin flavored things out there. I also would rather have my coffee taste like coffee than an artificial pumpkin. Like has anyone ever actually at a pumpkin? It does not taste like a PSL. It tastes more like sad squash. Not very good. If you want something good, get a Southern Tier Pumking Ale and thank me later.
What is your favorite thing about Fall? Also, I need some decor ideas for all of the pumpkins I have collected over the years. If anyone knows of some cute pumpkin arrangement ideas, let me know! Pinterest isn’t much help. Also, if anyone is interested in a full October Movie List-- let me know and I can type one up for you!
